Are you looking to take advantage of NRCS funding to build a high tunnel for your farm?

Nifty Hoops works with the NRCS EQIP program to build high tunnels for farmers across the country.

What is the NRCS EQIP High Tunnel Initiative?

The NRCS Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) supports farmers by funding the purchase and installation of hoop houses and high tunnels for in-ground production. This cost-share program can provide a flat rate per square foot, significantly reducing the financial burden of your project.

While EQIP is a cost-share reimbursement program, Nifty Hoops can help bridge funds until your project is complete if we’re building your hoop house to completion (not eligible with Starter Builds)

To improve your chances of receiving funding, familiarize yourself with the various conservation practices supported by EQIP. Implementing multiple practices on your farm can boost your application score and increase your likelihood of approval.

Choosing the Right Structure for Your Farm

We design and build hoop houses engineered to exceed NRCS standards and withstand harsh northern winters. With experience working on farms across the U.S. utilizing NRCS funding, we ensure your structure is both durable and eligible for reimbursement.

When your funding is approved, you’ll receive a specific dollar amount per square foot toward the total cost of your high tunnel. Larger high tunnels often cost less per square foot, making them a smart choice for farmers looking to maximize their EQIP funding.

How to Apply for the NRCS EQIP High Tunnel Initiative

Applying for EQIP funding involves a few essential steps. Before contacting your local NRCS representative, ensure you have:

  • A FSA Farm Tract Number
  • Your tax ID
  • Proof of land rights

Your local NRCS representative will visit your farm, develop a conservation plan tailored to your needs, and guide you through the required forms and application process.
